Exploring California and the World, One Adventure at a Time!
Field excursions have been a tradition at Webb since the 1930s. Every year, our students go on 30+ academic adventures across California and the world.
A Webb tradition since the 1930s! Our students search for fossils in the deserts of California, Wyoming, and Montana several times a year. Our paleontology students then clean and study the fossils at the Alf Museum, leading to real history-making discoveries. 95% of the over 140,000 specimens in the Alf were collected on Peccary Trips.
Webbies begin each school year with class retreats that allow students to bond with their classmates and advisors while exploring Southern California. Past trips have included ropes courses in Big Bear, beach days in Santa Monica, volunteering at local food banks, and art tours in Downtown LA.
Our Trips Program offers domestic and international trips during school breaks and in the summer. Our goal with these trips is to provide student travelers with defining experiences that help them expand their worldviews. Students learn unbounded thinking, global fluency, and global citizenship through field study, cultural exploration, language immersion, and community service. Recent trips took students to Bolivia, Ireland, Senegal, and Spain!
Adventure is one of Webb's greatest traditions. The week before commencement, seniors take class trips to National Parks to experience the extreme beauty of the American West while testing the physical and mental endurance they gained at Webb. They can choose to brave whitewater rafting and conquer Half Dome at Yosemite National Park or opt for the challenge of hiking in and out of the Grand Canyon.
