The World Languages Department offers comprehensive programs in Spanish, French, and Chinese. The curriculum is designed to help students develop proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing while fostering an understanding and appreciation of different cultures. In the first two years, students focus on building a strong accent, mastering fundamental language structures, engaging in extensive listening in the classroom, reading progressively complex texts, and developing a functional conversational vocabulary.
At the intermediate level, cultural and literary studies provide context for further enhancing language skills. Advanced courses offer university-level challenges, allowing students to deepen their proficiency across all four skill areas while engaging with more complex linguistic and cultural content.
