Claremont Graduate University PhD candidates join Webb as lab and research fellows

Graduate and doctoral students from Claremont Graduate University will soon join Webb as lab and research fellows, providing valuable support to our academic labs and research-based programming.
Webb is excited to welcome CGU PhD candidates Violet Luxton and Joy McCreary.

Ms. Luxton is a current PhD candidate at CGU and holds a BA in Integrative Psychology from Pomona Pitzer College and an MA in Cultural Studies from CGU. She brings a wealth of experience working to support students from her time as a student support specialist at CGU, Coordinator and Director of Native Initiatives at Pitzer, and most recently, as the Director of RS Recovery Services in Claremont, where she manages and supports various constituents throughout the greater Claremont community. Ms. Luxton will primarily serve as additional support for students in the evening lab program.

Ms. McCreary is also a PhD candidate at CGU and holds a BA in International Development Studies, Political Science, and German from UCLA and an MA in Urban Education from Loyola Marymount University. Ms. McCreary has a range of teaching experience, including serving as an intervention support coordinator/literacy department chair at George Washington Carver Middle School and currently an IB English teacher specializing in supporting English language Learners at Blair Middle & High School in South Pasadena. Ms. McCreary has a strong background in academic research and, as such, will serve as our CGU Research Fellow, not only helping to support our evening labs program but also offering support for students who are engaging in academic research at Webb.
