Rajan Bhatt ’90 Named CEO of One of the Nation’s Largest Privately Held Orthopedic Groups
Dr. Rajan Bhatt ’90 has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of OrthoArizona. With his credentials spanning both medicine and business leadership, this renowned physician-entrepreneur brings a unique perspective to leading this organization into its next phase of growth and operational advancement.
Dr. Bhatt is able to combine his medical expertise with his proven understanding of business with the excellent education he has received from many institutions, including Webb. In addition to receiving a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry and cellular biology from UC San Diego, a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Vermont College of Medicine, and a Master of Science in medical sciences from Boston University School of Medicine, Dr. Bhatt also obtained a master’s in business administration with a concentration in finance and strategy from the Claremont Graduate University’s Drucker Institute. Not only is he a board-certified cardiologist by training, Dr. Bhatt also has experience in real estate ventures and industrial land development that spans 20 years.
Prior to this appointment, Dr. Bhatt previously founded and served as CEO of both Spectrum Dermatology and Valley Surgery Center. With his direction, the company grew into the largest privately-held, solely-owned dermatology practice in Arizona and one of the largest in the country. In over nine years, the company was able to achieve a 39% compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) before being successfully acquired in 2021.
As CEO, Dr. Bhatt plans to focus on enhancing operational excellence while maintaining OrthoArizona's reputation for clinical distinction. The organization will continue expanding its comprehensive services, which include specialized orthopedic care, InstantOrtho walk-in clinics, the region's only accredited foot-ankle fellowship program, interventional pain management, physical and hand therapy, and advanced imaging and surgical facilities.
During his time at Webb, Dr. Bhatt ran cross country and on the track & field team. He also participated in various clubs and on the debate team. As an alumnus, Dr. Bhatt is active in the Arizona community, attending alumni events and connecting with fellow Webbies in the area. He has also served as a class agent and reunion chair for the Class of 1990.
